Dunedin Chamber of Commerce Community Calendar Guidelines
Purpose
The Dunedin Chamber of Commerce Community Calendar is an interactive, web based tool that allows the community to post, view, and search for events happening in and around Dunedin. The calendar exists to help promote events that bring people together and support a strong local community.
Overview
Calendar postings are intended for one time or special events only. The calendar is not meant for regularly scheduled or ongoing activities such as weekly classes, standing meetings, or recurring services.
Eligible Events
The Community Calendar may be used to promote educational, social, cultural, recreational, and community focused events that are open to the general public.
Dunedin Chamber members may also submit events taking place outside of Dunedin as part of their membership benefits.
The calendar may not be used to promote political or commercial sales events.
Event Guidelines
All submissions must follow these guidelines to be approved:
- Only events will be listed. Examples include orientations, expos, health and wellness events, nonprofit fundraisers, concerts, performances, and community sports or recreation sign-ups
- Events must be submitted at least 5 business days prior to the event date to allow time for review
- All events must be open to the general public. Invite only events are not eligible
- Events must be submitted by the event organizer, and valid contact information must be included
- Submissions must be accurate at the time of entry. Major changes after submission may require the event to be resubmitted
- K through 12 sporting events, church services, and political fundraisers are not eligible
- No solicitations or individual events such as garage sales, birthday parties, or personal fundraiser
All events may be approved at the Chamber’s discretion.
All required fields on the submission form must be completed. Incomplete forms may not be processed.
The Dunedin Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to make exceptions to these guidelines when appropriate
Calendar Review and Publishing
All submitted events are reviewed by the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce prior to posting
Most approved events are published within two to three business days.
The Chamber reserves the right to decline submissions
The Chamber may edit submissions for length, spelling, language, and clarity
All events must be submitted through your online members portal.
The Chamber reserves the right to limit the number of postings per organization and to reject any submission that does not align with these guidelines or the Chamber’s mission.
